The timing is right during these pre-peak oil years. Seems like Edmond Olson would join with you considering they have all this money to invest and large scale biodiesel is going to go totally bust. The reality is HECO does provide HELCO with the infrastructure materials, like poles, wires, etc. but otherwise has very little relevance to Hawaii island electricity, other than impose an archaic manual billing process that goes on in Honolulu. Hawaii island is easily capable of providing all its electricity from indigenous sources.
